The Notre Dame Gate is a 17th century gatehouse built by the Knights of St John as the main entrance through the landward fortifications, the Cottonera Lines, that encircle the Three Cities on Grand Harbour. Today, restored and managed by heritage trust Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna it stands majestic and proud and offers a reception and events venue with charisma and charm. It is an exclusive venue of Island Caterers and can accommodate up to 200 standing and, according to layout, between 60 and 100 seated
The building is an architectural gem of unparalleled proportions. It is built on five levels making it still the highest building in the region. From its terrace and roof, guests enjoy views over the historic harbour towns and much of the nearby southern tip of Malta. History can be brought alive by the trust’s volunteer re-enacters in period costume.
